Failed Otaku Haul

Had a bit of an adventure today. Well, okay, it wasn't an adventure. Went out to get stuff. An otaku haul to be exact. Or at least I was hoping it'd be. Reycal photo shoot is iminent, and I've got a killer headache atm.

Was planning to pick up a Revoltech, as pictured, Assassin's Creed II, as pictured, and three volumes of manga. As you can see, I got everything but the manga.

Wondering how much that costed? My mom bought Assassin's Creed for me...a week ago. However it was for the 360, while I have a PS3. So I went and exchanged it today, the PS3 was cheaper by $20, so that twenty went to the revoltech, which then meant that the revoltech was half the price. The candy and ramune were $5 together, so that brings the grand total to about $25. Pretty good, I'd say.

Sakura Media was sold out of Keroro Gunsou. Sad face. I'll have to look for it another time. "orz

Went to my family's restaurant to pick up some food for my dad, who come home early after getting sick. It was super busy, and I ended up becoming an employee for an hour. Cleaning tables isn't all that hard, but when you're helping out an understaffed popular restaurant, it's serious business. Anywho, the food never got made, so I had to run around Richmond looking for some.

The power was out at President Plaza, and the intersection in front of it. Crossing the road was putting your life on the line and in the hands of Chinese drivers. Now, I'm not being stereotypical, heck I'm Chinese too, but being in the parking lot of Aberdeen Centre isn't fun. All the businesses at Pres Plaza were closed, though a cafe was still letting people in if they wanted to. Picked up the food at Aberdeen's food court, and hightailed it home.

Turns out my dad's already made the food I bought for him. "orz

My brother and sister don't do any chores at home either. Which then leads to me being blamed for not doing anything at home. Accursed useless siblings.

Recognize this face? If you've watched Bakemonogatari, then you should.

Kenn on Film

Okay, so not really. Went out to help Ivy & co. with their film project, where I found myself as a freezing actor.

Let's start at the beginning of my day, shall we?

So I left the house, with my destination set for Patterson Station, quite far from my house. Two long bus rides, and a short skytrain trip got me there. After finding Ivy & co., we then had to wait for the other two people to show up. The fifth person showed up, but after waiting for a half hour, the sixth didn't show up. Being frozen to the core (only Ivy was actually), we (Ivy decided) to seek warmth and shelter at Metro. Waaaaaaaarmthhhhh....

And this brings us to the second leg of my day. Here we walked around and went to the Disney Store (again, Ivy and Megan's idea). Reliving our childhoods, and glomping and "d'haaawing" at everything.

"I had Buzz and Woody before"
"I still have a Woody if you know what I mean."

From there, we headed off to Toy R Us to relive our childhood some more, and more bad jokes from me. Anywho, we discussed where to go, and after spinning an umbrella to point us in the direction we wanted to go, we ended up entering T&T, a chain of Asian super markets (Ivy's idea). Asparagus juice anyone? After walking through the aisles, we set our destination for the Food court to grab some grub. Had Korean short ribs with rice and vegetables, while I got Ivy a Korean mix of noodles, chicken and vegetables. The plates are pretty big, and short ribs are impossible to eat. They're what I usually give my dog. Anywho, we were all warmed up with food in our systems, and with a replacement for the sixth person on his way, we headed back for Patterson station, which leads us to the third leg of my day.

Ivy & co. did a bit of filming, and I sat and became a guard dog for all the equipment that they weren't using. It was cold. But I didn't mind. I sat diligently, eyeing everyone who passed by. Okay, so I didn't. I was playing games on my iTouch. Anywho, the replacement for the sixth person showed up. Not sure how to spell his name, but it sounded something like "Dee". Anywho, he was a friend of Ivy's, and with everyone present, the filming could get underway. A short while into the filming, Dee took a fall, and needed to be patched up. So Ivy accompanied him to the next station, Metro, to get patched up. The rest of us remained under the Patterson station, with nothing much to do. I once again whipped out the iTouch and started gaming til my hands went numb from the cold. That might have been the longest half hour I've experienced. Anywho, once they returned, the filming continued. My part came and went, and the filming came to a conclusion. By now, the temperature outside was dipping below 5°C, and we were all freezing. The party disbanded, and we each went our own ways. This is the beginning of the final leg of the day!

Hopped on the skytrain, and went down a station to Joyce, where I found Fiona,  a friend from high school waiting for the bus. Chatted for a little bit, and then the bus came. By now, I really needed to use the washroom, but with no washroom for a while, I'd have to hold it in. Fiona got off a stop before me, and after I got off, I had to wait for another bus to get me home. Still holding it in, as there wasn't any washrooms around. The next bus came, and I hopped on. On this bus, I found Jason T. on his way home. Chatted with him for a bit before he got off. I could feel my bladder under all the pressure of holding it in. It was becoming a tad bit painful then. The bus reached my stop, the terminus, and I hopped off, and began the homestretch. I have to say, that might've been the happiest I've been to be in the washroom for a long time. Back in the warm indoors.

Anywho, that's about it. If Ivy & co. put the video up on YT, I'll see if I can find it and put it up on ze blog.

The Misadventures of Kenn

Image from here.

Aights, so like the title says, I had a bit of an adventure today, finding my way down to my composition teacher's place. I've had a few lessons already, but I've been dropped off, so this was a first for me. Getting there isn't actually that hard, but there's more to the story that just that.

Now let me tell you, if I said that it was nice out today, I'd be lying through my teeth. It was stormin' out there. Raining hard, whipping winds, and fairly low temperatures made the commute far from fun.

Getting there was fairly simple. No difficult transfers. It's actually the same route to get down to Super Bored. Except that I was supposed to stay on the bus after it makes a corner at Alma. Not knowing this, I got off, and walked around for a bit before realizing that I got off at the wrong stop. Waited for another bus and got to the destination, after stepping in a few ankle deep puddles.

Coming back, I was able to bypass the ponds puddles by going around the front of the house. Unfortunately, that's pretty much where my good luck ends. Wrestled with my umbrella to get it closed gave me two small nicks on each of my thumbs. Then when the bus rolled in, the rain had pretty much made it impossible to read what route it took. Turns out it wasn't the route I wanted. Luckily for me, there was a connection to the 22. Unfortunately, it's route would take me across the city, before reaching it's terminus. I could've jumped on the Canada Line (skytrain), but the 100 at the Marine Station doesn't come too often, so I didn't want to risk standing around waiting for that bus, and instead opted to stay on the 22 until it's termination stop.

So, there I sat in the bus, taking possibly the longest Translink bus ride I've ever done. About 45 minutes, minus the previous bus. Anyways, geared up for the long ride, whipped out the iTouch, pumped the volume and started playing Scrabble, UnBlock Me, and Real Racing. If you're wondering, it was cold, and being soaked by the rain didn't help one bit.

Anywho, I didn't have anything interesting to put up, so I figured this would be entertaining.

Fright Nights

Aights, so we (Ivy, Karen, Janelle, Barbara, Sara, plus two people who left early and shall remain nameless), went down to the PNE for the Fright Nights (Halloween event thing) today...or yesterday since it's past midnight. Anywho, being an idiot, I didn't bring a jacket, and froze my way through ze night. I still feel like I'm on one of the rides. This isn't very fun. Gah. Happy Birthday Ivy!...although it was..on the 30th, and now it's November 1st.

Run down of ze day: Meet, shop, bus, wait, PNE, wait.

Meet:
Running late, so I jumped on the first train that came by. Guess what? Everyone else was running late too. My timing is impeccable. Karen was dressed up as a "cop" which ended up looking more like Lady Gaga. ₩ ₩ ₩ (inside joke.) I was a student. Because I'm not one right now, it works! The rest of them didn't buy it.

Shop:
Ran around Pacific Center while the girls bought stuff..okay so maybe a few people bought stuff. Awkward moment, as the invisible barrier repelled the guys (there's three guys) from entering the lingerie section of H&M. One member of the party left, as we departed for the PNE.

Bus: Harsh j-walked, which resulted in Janelle losing both her necklace, and bus pass. Not much happened on the bus other than that.

Wait: Waited a while in line to get in. Quite chilly out today. The animatronics at the entrance weren't very great. Only one movement at a time. ₩...

PNE: The brunt of this post should be here.

Went through the haunted houses. The first one we went in (Hollywood) was pretty scary, although it didn't phase me too much. Not bragging, but I'm saying that honestly. After Demon's Soul on the PS3, stuff jumping out at me and hiding behind stuff doesn't phase me. Plus I had two girls clinging to my arms so that if anything jumped out, they'd be engaging me in full body exercises. We met up with the rest of the group, and when through Hollywood again. Again, I was engaged in full body exercises, by even more girls this time. Got separated from Ivy, who ended up clinging on to two random guys, who would join our group for a bit.

Went through another house, "Asylum". I didn't like that one too much. It was dark, and I don't like the dark when I know there are things out there. One part of it was two inflatable walls pressed close together, and you sidle through it. I think it was this one where there was a prop-barrel with a animatronic dude in it who'd pop up and flip open the barrel lid. My arm was right above the lid, and it smacked my elbow really, really hard. Ow.

"Hey Ivy, do you know this feels like?"
"Don't say it."

I can say it now. I felt like a penis! Anyway, that aside, the other houses weren't that great. The maze was terrible. The only scary person in there was an axe-toting clown in a section with a bunch of rubber chickens.

What scared me most at the PNE were the rides. I'll say it now. I'm terrified of heights (as well as spiders.) Squirmed by way out of Hells Gate, and the Coaster. Went on the pirate ship, and holy carpadoodles, that thing isn't good for me. All the other rides I went on weren't that bad though.  After she saw one of her friend's brother doing that to his friend, she started. Not too many times though, since most of it we were chatting. The Ferris wheel was okay, except when it stopped at the top. That wasn't fun.

Anywho, half the group left for home, while the other half (including me and ivy) stuck around for a little bit longer. We went through Hollywood (first haunted house) again, and on a few rides. The musical express was hard for me to do. The person sitting on the outside gets squished by the person on the inside because of the spinning motion. So I was gonna sit on the outside, but Ivy directed me to in the inside seat. Bad idea. Held on to the safety bar for dear life to prevent me from crushing the poor girl. My efforts paid off...I think. Ivy had her fun squishing me on the Scrambler though. The Ferris wheel was okay, except when it stopped at the top. That wasn't fun.

Wait: Called my mom to ask her to drop Ivy and Sara at their places, and for a ride home. Walked up to a McD's where we witnessed a woman freaking out at her boyfriend. Awkward situation much. That's pretty much the day. xD Yep.

Down Back Zero

Well, first off, I'd like to wish Jason a happy birthday. Yes, today's his birthday. I'll be running through what we did at his house, and a few other things that I've done during the day. Sucks that he doesn't have a bedroom anymore.

Awight, so the day started off with Demon's Soul. Actually, it started with my brother playing Demon's Soul. I spent a good chunk of the night playing the game. He was up earlier than I was playing. I've been playing on the PS3 all week, and he hasn't had a chance to ever since I got it, so I let him play. Yes, I'm that nice. It's incredibly difficult. Remember when I said that I had heard that Demon's Soul was similar to DMC (Devil May Cry)? It's not. If anything, it's more similar to most MMORPGs than DMC.  If you die, you lose all your souls (money), but you can reclaim them if you can find where you died. However, if you die on your way there, your souls are gone for good. Bah.
Anyways, obviously certain classes will be easier to play than other classes. As cool as Wanderers are, they die like a mofo. Take so much damage. Though, I can't say that Royalty takes less damage...

Anyways, left for Jason's house after. Picked up a shelled chestnut (with it's green shell) to give him. Last year, I got him a bag of chestnuts. Seems that I didn't have this blog the last time his birthday rolled around. I got there pretty early, since there was pretty much no one else. Johnson and Keith were working on setting up a PS3 (Johnson's), but went back to Keith's to get another cable since the one they had didn't work. Darren showed up, then Edmond, twice. Gary came, and then Christ showed up. Once Michael showed up, the noise level shot up instantly. He's the life of the party. He's pretty intense when gaming. It's hilarious to watch too. And with him, everyone becomes loud.

UFC 09 Undisputed was played on one TV, where Carlos, Cris, Gary and a friend of Gary's who's name is Edmond (or Ed) were found. Michael and the rest were on the PS3 playing NHL, and Street Fighter.

I played Poker with Ed, Darren, Jason, and Keith. Did I win? Maybe once out of the 10+ rounds we played. I really suck at Poker.

Food rolled in. Like last year, there was pizza, and sushi. This time we also had deep fried pork, and spaghetti. The pizza and sushi were devoured in an instant.

The games went on again, and later John, Johnson, Darren and Keith went back to Keith's place (again) to get a connector cable for the 360's. "You won't believe what John just did." It wasn't as bad as we thought it was, though it was still pretty stupid.

Johnson, Edmond, Darren, and John went out to buy a deck of cards for Big 2, since all the decks at Jason's place were missing cards, no thanks to "those idiots" who threw them around. Halo started up on one of the TVs, while UFC still played on the other.  I left before Halo was started up on both TVs.

Distant Worlds - Music from Final Fantasy ©

So me and two friends (whom shall be named Jeff and Lucy) went downtown earlier tonight to see the Distant Worlds concert. It was wonderful! The music was awesome, and some of the accompanying video was quite humorous. Especially ones from the earlier games, mainly due to the graphics back then. Felt a tad bit under-dressed however. Jeff was somewhere in between semi formal and formal, Lucy was semi formal, and I was pretty much casual. A dress shirt underneath a sweater, jeans and sneakers. Essentially, I looked like a preppy. Lots of people were in full formal, although there were also quite a few people even more shoddily dressed than me. 2 Cosplayers  spotted; Rufus, and a Summoner (the class with the Horn head band).

Anyways, the concert opened with Liberi Fatali from Final Fantasy VIII (in which most of the songs were from). I can't remember the order of the songs anymore, so I'll just list the songs that were played in no particular order.

Liberi Fatali (VII)
To Zanarkand (X)
Don't be Afraid (VIII)
Ronfaure (XI)
Fisherman's Horizon (VIII)
Dear Friends (V)
Vamo alla flamenco  (IX)
Opening ~Bombing Mission (VII)
Aerith's Theme (VII)
Swing de Chocobo (FF)
Final Fantasy VII Main Theme (VII)
Love Grows (VIII)
Theme of Love (IV)
Man With a Machine Gun (VIII)
Memoro de la Stono - Distant Worlds (XI)
Opera "Maria and Draco" Aria di Mezzo Carattere (VI)
Terra's Theme (VI)
One Winged Angel (VII)

My favourite songs from them were To Zanarkand, Ronfaure, Fisherman's Horizon, Love Grows, and Maria and Draco.

It was well worth the $65 tickets, and probably would've been much more had Uematsu made an actual appearance. He did make a video appearance, however, it was short, but also comical, as the camera was pointed at a statue, while he talked.

Jeff was disappointed that he could buy the CD on sale. Was close to buying it before the concert, but he didn't get it. After the concert, he had to have it, but it was sold out. Perhaps it was Lucy's comments prior to the concert that stopped Jeff from buying it...because after when it was sold out, we were harping on him on how we totally called it.

"It'll be 7 minutes!"
"He won't take 7 minutes. He'll come back in like 2 minutes because they don't have it."
"They're sold out..."
"Told you so"
Ride home was full of "I would do that again, and again.", "I would relive that moment just for the concert", "Now I don't have anything to look forwards to..." Guess which comment is mine.

Anyways, I'm missing the concert already. The music I've got playing right now can't live up to a live orchestra. Yes Andrew, Touhou rock arrangement's can't beat a live orchestra.

Summer Night Market 21

Nothing really happened today. It was cold...and windy. Not fun to work around in.

So instead, you guys should watch this.

xD I love those puppets.

Summer Night Market 20

Alrighty, so twas another night down in Richmond. I stuck this series on hiatus, since nothing interesting was happening. Tonight, however, I'd say stuff happened. I'll list'em instead of typing up some stuff.

First time lighting the stove. It's a propane stove, so you gotta get a barbecue lighter to start it. We left the gas running to a bit too long, so went I went to light it, it caused a micro-explosion, (cue sound effect "foom") and singed my hand. Scary, but no injuries.

Apparently, my newest Super Bored shirt has the image of my cousin's friend's cousin's god-sister on it. Yes, it's pretty far off, but that's an interesting fact.

While cleaning up, my cousin and his friends (and included me) played a game where you couldn't use words with a particular letter. If you say a word with the letter, you'd get punched. First was "T". Was quite difficult, as you can see. A very common letter. After it went to W. Not as difficult, but still a bit tricky, as you don't expect it to come up. I'd say that the highlights were...

"Understand doesn't have a T"
"Wait" punch "Time out!" punch "Stop!" punch
"...There are warm fluids..." (couldn't say water)

Being crafty, and quiet, I simply just didn't talk. I used French too, but apparently I can't. Ou est la toilette?, rather than "where is the toilet?"

Anywho, that's about it for the day. More previews to come tomorrow. Nights y'all.

Figma Miku get! / A Day in Vancouver

Yeah. Sorry about the photo. Have to wait until my brother comes back from his trip so I can get my camera back. Was using my old camera. Not the greatest, as you can see.

Anyways, went running around Richmond and Vancouver with Ivy today. While picking up Miku at Richmond center (Soul of Anime is the only place to get figma D:), I felt a "no comment" aura coming from her. I honestly expected that. At least it wasn't one of those otaku-shunning aura's. Ran around Richmond Center for a bit before embarking on the next trip, destination: Aberdeen Center.

While at Aberdeen, we went to the awesome-est place there, Daiso. I went and found the most dangerous items sold there, ice picks (I would've loved one on RO), sickles (for gardening), and knives. Not wanting to become a killer, I didn't pick any of them up ^^; However, Ivy did pick up a little bear plushie keychain thing. She complained about her back hurting. I swear it has nothing to do with me. Although I suppose it could be thought of in another way, which I'll leave up to those who have their minds in the gutter...like me After a quick look around the mall,  we set off on the next journey, to Parker Place, not too far from Aberdeen.

Had a shaved ice thing at Parker Place. Trying figure out what stuff was called in English. Failed miserably. The furthest we got was coconut jelly and longan. The shaved ice made us colder than we already were. Ran around Parker Place for a bit to warm up before heading to the Olympic Village, to try and figure out where it actually was.

It was pretty much nowhere. Couldn't find the Olympic Village from the station. Ended up walking across the bridge to Downtown Vancouver. Ivy was amused by my partially comical fear of insects. A bee was flying around me, and I did a half assed run. I think my hearing's going. She could hear some high pitched noise that I couldn't. Took the Yaletown station train back home.

Getting off the train and getting down the stairs takes a good bit longer than you think. The moment I got to the bottom of the stairs, the bus left. Waited a good 15-20 minutes for the next bus. And that bus was packed like a tin of sardines. There's two stops by my house, and if you miss those two stops, you're pretty much screwed. The next stops from there are really, really far. Wouldn't want to walk back from there.

Anywho, that's pretty much my day so far. There'll be another Photo shoot for Miku, and Kagamiku will make appearances here and there in said gallery.

Summer Night Market 19

Well, I'm lacking Internet on my computer at the moment, so I'll try my best to do this on my iTouch.

I was supposed to have piano today, but music that was ordered didn't arrive, so I didn't have a lesson today. Did some restocking of everything and went to work.

Can't say today was entirely eventful. Was a good day I guess, steady stream of people. Got a crazy order or 8 sandwiches, which we cranked out at record speed.

Cousin went to meet up with some friends, and her bf showed up right after she left. People just kept popping up after that.

Intense moments in the parking lot. Lady went apeshit while co-blocking the exit, while everyone behind honked.

That's about it :/ hopefully the Internet will be back for manga of the week. If it ain't, I'm crashing at jason's xD

Summer Night Market 18

Another night at the night market. I'd be lying if I said that nothing happened.

Started off the day with a trip to Aberdeen Center to hunt for a hat that my cousin wanted. After not finding it, we headed to a pet shop to pick up fish food, where my cousin bought 5 additional fish. Went back to the restaurant to chill for a bit.

It rained, really really hard when we got to our stall. Got a nice surprise too. Our sign broke. A trip to Home Depot fixed it, with some hard work and standing around in the rain.

If it wasn't for Food Network filming Glutton for Punishment, I don't think anyone would've come. The rain kept coming down relentlessly. Was really chilly out too. Bob dropped by and grabbed a bite to eat. The camera crew was around filming too. I'm pretty sure I'm in at least one shot. Bad day to do it. Ahaha. Welcome to Vancouver!

After the filming was done, we waited a bit for people coming back from the stage to buy stuff. After that, we packed up and made like a banana, and split. One more night to go until next week.

Another night down in Richmond. Twas just me, my two cousins and my uncle out there today. My brother was still asleep when we left. Anywho, nothing eventful happened today. A friend told me that this must be the most boring series on the blog. I'm not surprised. It ain't fun working out there either. But it gives me something to write about at least.

A rainbow was out while we were setting up. My uncle said that if the rainbow was long, then it wouldn't rain. If it was short though, the opposite would be true. It rained. Not for long, but it lasted for at least a half hour. Gradually got heavier.  In the end, not much came down.

Anywho, I was doing good with change, until I screwed up one, and after that, I made a few other mistakes. As long as they give me some normal amount of cash, and order something usual, I can do that. But if they buy like $13.75 worth of stuff and pay with like $100, that's not very fun to do.

Started packing waaay in advance, and ended up leaving early. Got home a half hour early. Though I'm no earlier in posting this than usual.

First time down in the night market in the month of September. Today seemed really difficult for me. Probably a lack of sleep, combined with malnutrition xD.

Anyways, it was pretty busy, with orders for sandwiches rolling in one after another. Not so much the same for the other items.

Health inspectors came again, but a different bunch from last time. They started on the other side of the row this time around, so we were some of the last people they checked. She said we were fine, until another one came, stating that we couldn't use whole eggs.

It started to rain right when we were about to leave. We had packed up all the stuff, and loaded up the car when it started. Impeccable timing.

Anyways, that's it for today. There's another 3 posts like these for the week, because the market is open until Monday. Jeezeebus.

Wax Hat Candy Hunt

Running around the city with the usual crew. Picked up nothing interesting myself though.

Alrighty, so today I went running around Metro and Crystal Mall with the usual crew of Ed and Jason. Jason wanted to find wax (hair product) while Ed wanted to find a hat. I wanted to see if I could find myself another Figma, or some other "Otaku Hardware". I stopped by Arby's to get some food, and then we left to Lids for a hat.
After not finding anything, we headed off to Crystal Mall, where we hunted for wax and figmas. They didn't have any. They might have actually, but I don't want any Haruhi ones.
After searching in vain at Crystal Mall, we headed back to Metro to hunt for wax and hats. Went to Superstore and T&T to look. Spent a bit in Superstore deciding on what to get. Didn't get anything in the end. Got wax, drinks and a sandwich for Ed there. The drinks were terrible. Tasted like tonic water. Ick. The drink below.

Anywho, went back to Jason's place, after we made a quick stop at Edmond's for him to grab stuff. We hunted for a bit at Jason's, while eating candy, and listening to intro songs and commercials from the 90's. Makes us feel so old. Love house hippos. xD Anywho, that's about it. Might go down to Richmond later this week to find some figmas, and maybe go down to Superbored again to replace a Tshirt that my mom lost. Sad face. $40 D:

Summer Night Market 15

Yet another night down in Richmond. Only a few more weeks until the Summer Night Market closes for the year.

Twas only me, my brother and my cousin down at the stall. My uncle and aunt were there too. Can't really say it was an awesome day, but I guess it wasn't exactly a terrible day either. There was a semi-constant flow of customers at the beginning, but it died down closer to the end. Not many sandwiches or drinks were sold. Everything else did okay, or at least sold at their usual slow kinda day rates.

Nothing really happened during the day either. Saw lots of cute dogs. A few people from high school were there. Other than that, it was pretty much, an eventful day. =l

Summer Night Market 14

Alrighty, so it was another night down in Richmond.

It was a usual day. Slow start, but it steadily picked up. Sales usually came in large clusters, one after another, leaving us scrambling to keep up with orders. Would love to have more space to work. The lack of space really affects how fast we can do things. Of course, it'd be virtually impossible to do that, since you'd need to move the entire row over.

Aside from that, nothing really spectacular really happened. Oh, I did watch a moth die in a plume of fire. Flew near a gas burner, and it was sitting near it for a bit before it's wing caught fire. Once that happened it just went poof. In a split second the flames went from it's wing tips to completely engulfing in insect. It wasn't the kind of fire I was expecting though. Was hoping for a burning moth to be flying around, but I guess it's insides were cooked from that. Crispy moth anyone?

Ran as much as I've run out of cash

Running around in Richmond, blowing hard earned cash on expensive stuff man. Testing out a new code while I'm at it too. Can't figure out how to use it, so I'll go without it for now. Figured it out now, and it's currently in use for the latest post.

The day started with walking to Jason's place. Had to wait for my brother to get home so I could leave.

Launched at around 1, got there at around 1:30. Yes, it takes quite a long time to walk to Jason's. Anywho, once I got there, we almost immediately set off for the newly built Canada Line, a new route to Richmond, cutting our travel time down immensely. Ed had his U-Pass, and us chumps (Jason and I) who aren't in a university had to pay up or get tazed. Spent at least $10 on fare alone today.

First sstop, my folk's restaurant. We had lunch, and possibly breakfast if one of us skipped it, there. All three of us got Bo Luc Lac (shaken beef with rice and Vietnamese slaw). Good stuff. I got my usual 3 coloured bean desesrt, while Ed got a strawberry shake. Jason wanted to be adventurous, and got a Preserved Plum in Soda. He didn't like it. At least he wasn't a prick, and finished it.

Anywho, second stop was Richmond Center, where I got my first Figma, Kagamiku (Hiragii Kagami in a Miku outfit, from the Lucky*Star OVA). Costed me a good $40. Otaku's must be really rich.

Third stop, Landsdowne Center, where we went hunting for external hard drives to relieve me of my endless hard drive space needs. Checked out Best Buy, but they didn't have the one I was looking for. Twas on sale, and twas all sold out. Sad face. And thus, we went to Future Shop. The model I was looking for wasn't even there, but there was one of similar price. Picked it up there. Costed me $145.

Fourth stop was Aberdeen Center. We went running around here. Ran into Jennifer, who poked me, probably in revenge for all the times I've poked her. Bad things happened here man. Ed's never gonna let it die. Not gonna blog about that. It's gonna be wiped out of my memory. NOT GONNA REMEMBER IT.

Anywho, while we were there, Ed played a game or two at the "arcade", or Game Corner, though it's not a corner, and we went to walk some more. Ended up walking to Yaohan, where we walked around, as Ed made fun of me. He was actually doing it the entire day. Anywho, ended up walking back to Aberdeen, getting on the train, and then trying to figure out what to do next. Spent a good 5-10 minutes trying to think of what to do.

Ended up deciding to retreat back to Jason's place. Hung around for a few minutes before going to get food at McD's. Was too poor to afford anything. Got two snackwraps. Was all I could afford. $3.97.

And that's pretty much the day. xD Oh. and...Spider spider spider! Spider air! Goro power!

Summer Night Market 12

Yet another day at the night market. Again, more after the jump.

Didn't have enough people to man the stall, since one of my cousins has today off. However, one of us (brother or me) has to stay home to look after our sister. To solve this, we brought her out to our folk's restaurant. Against my suggestions, she went out to the night market with us.

A fairly consistent day. Orders pretty much came one after another. It wasn't until nearer to the end of the night market day that things slowed down. No crazy orders today.

My sister, being a brat, started to cry. No one really knows why, but that's one of the reasons I really didn't want her to go out to the market. There's no one there to play with her. We're all busy. She's an attention whore, and she probably was bored out of her mind. I told her about that, but no one seems to be listening to me. Then again, there was gonna be a party at the restaurant, and the situation there wouldn't be much different from the night market. She needs a friend we can dump her on, or I need a friend willing to take her in a for a day or something. Free of charge. Maybe someone with young children or something >.>

Saw Ivy and Connie earlier in the day. Didn't notice Ivy the first time. Tried to wave to Connie, but ended up hitting the oven and had a hand in pain for a minute or two.

Anywho, had to double time the clean up at the end of the day because my cousin had to get to Blockbusters to return rented dvds.

Wax is so hard to wash out of hair without shampooing. Bah

Another day at the night market. A good day for a Sunday. More after the jump.

Alrighty, so everyone was down there. The usual crew, plus my uncle's family (from Texas) and my grandma, and eventually my cousin's boyfriend's family. So there were lots of people there. A certain worker set-up resulted in efficient use of staff and space, which translated to less time waiting for good food.

While delivering a sandwich to a nearby vendor, I ran into a steel beam. Smacked the top of my head into it while jumping over a pipe. It hurt like a bisnitch for a few hours, and gave me an odd sensation in my throat. I hope I don't die from an aneurism in the night or something.

Saw Jason Tan and his girlfriend come by. Chatted with him for a bit, and had to get back to work. Sold out everything we brought (though we brought less than usual, in anticipation of the Sunday).

Anywho, that's about it for that. xD Perhaps something will happen tomorrow?

Working down at the night market again. Really busy. More after the jump.

It started out with a trip to the restaurant to pick up food and materials for the market, which then went to Shopper's drugmart to pick up stuff to make signs. While we set up, my cousin toiled away at his artistic signs.

Business really picked up later in the day, with rapid fire orders. Struggled to keep up. One order was 6 Vietnamese sandwiches. Now, one or two is normal, but 6? That's quite a number. And after the six, there were another 3.

Constantly ran out of salad rolls and papaya salad (affectionately called "pap salad"). Lots of rolling behind the scene...or probably behind me.

Anywho, you probably won't see this, but happy birthday Billy. (Guy from the stall to next door)

Oh and GL > N
